Our School

Catholic Education in Victoria, BC

Principal's Welcome

Welcome to St. Andrew’s Regional High School. Our Motto “To Build in Love” informs all that we do here at St. Andrew's.

We are committed, as a learning & teaching community, to form students in all the gifts and talents they are blessed with by God. St. Andrew’s opened its doors in 1983, but its traditions can be traced to 1864 when St. Louis College, a Catholic school for boys aged six to fifteen, opened on Pandora Avenue. The philosophy of Catholic education and tradition that permeated the core values of the College remains at St. Andrew’s today.

Our visual and performing arts, sports, music, culinary and retreat programs take seriously the need to form the whole person. We have just completed a 13 million dollar renovation and have completed a new performing arts wing. Families from all faith backgrounds are welcome and we do all that we can to support and make a Catholic education competitively affordable. Yogi Berra once quipped, “The future ain’t what it used to be”. In these vulnerable, uncertain and discerning times, a Catholic education committed to building character, academic competencies and trust in Divine Love is an ever more important and worthwhile investment.

I, along with the St. Andrew’s family,  welcome you.

Curriculum

St. Andrew's Regional High School, an accredited independent school, offers programming for grade 8 through grade 12.

In addition, diocesan approved programs of Religious Studies and Christian Family Life complement the BC Ministry of Education curriculum. Schools are well equipped to meet the many demands of a fast-changing society.

Academics

At St. Andrew's, superior academics is a huge part of what we do. We prepare students emotionally and intellectually so they can excel at post-secondary studies.

Fine Arts

At St. Andrew's High School, the sound of music, the thrill of leaping across the stage, the quiet scratching of charcoal on canvas helps bring our school to life.

Athletics

The goal of the Athletics Program at St. Andrew's Regional High School is to provide each student athlete with opportunities to compete at the highest level available.

Beliefs & Values

At St. Andrew's Regional High School, academic excellence goes hand-in-hand with qualities like integrity, purpose, responsibility, empathy, knowledge, servant leadership and many more.

We not only teach facts but through God’s Word we instill character because at St. Andrew’s, we are building tomorrow’s leaders. Intelligent leadership rests on having a strong sense of purpose and direction. This, in turn, rests on facilitating the capacity to think clearly, act with integrity, make decisions, be sensitive to the needs of others, be strong in service and hold a global perspective. The first step in building the leader’s of tomorrow is nurturing the human spirit today.
